Die Stadt Sankt Goarshausen, übliche Kurzform St. Goarshausen, liegt stromab des Schieferfelsens der Loreley am rechten Rheinufer im Rhein-Lahn-Kreis in Rheinland-Pfalz.
Die Stadt ist Verwaltungssitz der Verbandsgemeinde Loreley und gehört seit 2002 zum UNESCO-Welterbe Oberes Mittelrheintal. Die Loreleystadt war lange Kreisstadt – von 1886 des Kreises bzw. ab 1939 des Landkreises Sankt Goarshausen, ab 1961 des Loreleykreises bis 1969 – und ist gemäß Landesplanung als Mittelzentrum ausgewiesen.
Sankt Goarshausen (German pronunciation: ; abbreviated St. Goarshausen) is a town located in the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis in Nassau on the eastern shore of the Rhine, in the section known as the Rhine Gorge, directly across the river from Sankt Goar, in the German state Rhineland-Palatinate. It is located within the Nassau Nature Park and the Rhine Gorge UNESCO world heritage site, and was historically part of the Duchy of Nassau.
