Kremsmünster ist eine Marktgemeinde in Oberösterreich im Bezirk Kirchdorf im Traunviertel mit 7041 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Jänner 2025). Der zuständige Gerichtsbezirk ist Kirchdorf an der Krems.
Der Name geht auf das Benediktinerstift Kremsmünster zurück. Es wurde im Jahre 777 gegründet und ist das kulturelle Zentrum der Region. Seine berühmte Sternwarte heißt Mathematischer Turm.
