DENKmal
Das Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas, kurz Holocaust-Mahnmal, in der historischen Mitte Berlins erinnert an die rund sechs Millionen Juden, die unter der Herrschaft Adolf Hitlers und der Nationalsozialisten ermordet wurden.
Das von Peter Eisenman entworfene Mahnmal besteht aus 2711 quaderförmigen Beton-Stelen. Es wurde zwischen 2003 und Frühjahr 2005 auf einer 19.000 m² großen Fläche südlich des Brandenburger Tors errichtet. Am 10. Mai 2005 feierlich eingeweiht, ist es seit dem 12. Mai 2005 öffentlich zugänglich. Im ersten Jahr kamen über 3,5 Millionen Besucher.
